Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson

I think I have recommended this book to everyone I know. Back when I was considering law school, a good friend of mine recommend I read this. I finally got around to it and highly recommend it. If you are not mad about systemic racism, police brutality, the unjust court system, or how colonialism continues to plague the United States, then read this and I guarantee you will be upset. I considered myself someone who knew about systemic racism and how slavery infiltrated our justice and police system. What I was not knowledgeable about was the extent and the incredible need for reform. Read this book to get a better sense of why people are protesting and upset about being oppressed since the very beginning of the United States.
