Hello! Welcome!

I started this blog out of pressure from my wonderful friends, our vegan dinner nights, and my absolute love for food and cooking.

I love cooking. For me, baking and cooking have always been an outlet to destress and unwind. Trying new recipes and continuously altering ones I already love with new ingredients is a fun passion project for me. A more recent shift in my diet and lifestyle has made me intent on learning to create from scraps and scratch.

As a person who looks to other recipe developers for insight, I have found that I easily get turned off by full paragraphs of story before I find a recipe. My aim for this blog is straight forward recipes- and by that I mean little to no background, just the stuff you need to cook. I have wanted to create a space that encourages people to cook and feel comfortable in the kitchen. Questions and recommendations are highly encouraged and loved.

I have a lot of strong feelings associated with our current food system, factory farming, our relationship to food, and our need to label a diet and stick with it. I eat what I like, and I have found that a vegan diet has made improvements in my body, both mentally and physically.

My passion for food as communication for love is something I really want to share. It has made me see resources differently and to truly appreciate what the planet has to offer. I find I am constantly learning, and I want to be able to share that knowledge.
